Traditional Dhow Experience

Enjoy a personalised snorkelling and diving safari to Kisite Marine Park in Shimoni, where dolphins are often seen. The experience includes a fresh Swahili seafood lunch on Wasini Island, with many local operators offering this unforgettable trip.

Robinson Island By Ngalawa Or Glass Bottom Boat

Take a 2–3 hour glass-bottom boat trip to Robinson Sand Island, about 3 km south. It’s a great spot for beginner snorkelling, with the crew ready to guide you. Book with operators along the beach for the best timings. Price guidance : private boat approx. Ksh 10,000 or shared about Ksh 2,000 per person. Snorkelling gear is usually included—confirm with the crew. Bring a towel and water, but avoid carrying valuables. Expect hot Kaskazi winds from mid-December to mid-March, and cooler Kusi winds from late April to October.

Sunset cruise by local Ngalawa to the Tropical Tide Eco bar

Set off from the ancient Kongo Mosque and enjoy a tranquil boat ride on a Traditional Ngalawa for a stop over at the Tropical tide Eco bar. Enjoy a cocktail before returning back to your starting point. Bookings can be made at The Estuary Kongo river beach lounge.

Deep Sea Fishing

Deep sea fishing along Kenya’s south coast can offer adventure seekers joy, excitement and sometimes breathtaking battles. The large variety of sport fish caught, include Marlin (striped, black and blue), Sailfish, Tuna, Dorado, Wahoo, Barracuda, Giant Trevally and Kingfish. The best fishing season is from October through to April and is a wonderful way to spend either a half or full day out on the Indian Ocean.

Diving

The southern coast of Kenya is home to some of the best dive sites and reefs. Diani Beach has turtles, a sunken shipwreck, and from December to March, the chance to see whale sharks. Local dive operators include Diani Marine, Ocean Tribe, and Diving the Crab.

Kite Surfing & SUP

Diani Beach is one of the best places for kitesurfing, with two wind seasons giving kiters about 10 months of great conditions each year. We recommend Kitemotion (at Flamboyant Hotel) and Tribe Water Sports (at Galu Backpackers), both offering lessons, rentals, and more water activities.

Jetski Safari

Experience the Indian Ocean from a different perspective. Have a  go on a jet ski and experience the ocean and Diani’s endless beach in a different, fun and exciting way.

Diamonds Leisure Golf Club is home to a leading 18-hole course, the only one on Kenya’s south coast. Each October, it holds the “Diani Beach Masters,” a two-day competition open to both pros and amateurs. The event is a highlight of East African golf.

Discover Mombasa’s Old Town, market, and Fort Jesus. For shopping, the main complex in Diani Beach is only a 3-minute drive and has plenty of souvenirs and Kenyan artefacts, along with other nearby centres. You will find detailed information folder in all of our accommodation options.

Look out for camels on Diani Beach – riding them is lots of fun and also a unique way to reach the different beach restaurants along the coast.

The Shimba Hills National Park is approximately 30 kilometres away, here you will find dense forest with an array of bird and wildlife alike. This is one of the largest coastal forests in Kenya and along with the Sheldrake Falls makes for a lovely day out in nature, animal spotting or a small guided hike to the Waterfall.
